my standard time pieces is a current body of work in which I apply my chewed gum on global maps collected from atlases 8.5x11” in size. The placement of the gum corresponds with the referenced areas on the maps: being political, weather/geographical patterns, or specific data collected pertaining to various regions. The malleable qualities of the gum relates to the map boarders, which change due to erosion, politics, social change, continental shifts, and even due to time itself. Each map in the series my standard time pieces has a title referencing the hours and minutes taken to complete each piece. This collection of data, in the form of time, refers to my personal activity.
